Non-StopHip-HopLive is dedicated to shining light on the Columbia/South Carolina hip-hop community, showing support for independent or national businesses and assisting in the movement of hip-hop culture around the world. Our weekly events aim to provide a venue where local artists, record labels, and businesses can communicate, promote, advertise, merchandize and enjoy hip-hop culture.
About: Non-StopHip-HopLive was birthed out of the University of South Carolina's WUSC 90.5FM radio show of the same name. Dj's Shekeese (Sherard Duvall) and Kingpin (Kingsley Waring) began the radio show in the fall of 1998 which has expanded to include live concerts and a weekly live version of the show complete with freestyle competitions, open mic sessions, and support of local hip-hop/music programs. The weekly events were established on September 5th 2001 with The Elbow Room Music Hall, but moved to The New Brookland Tavern (122 State St. West Columbia, SC 29269) in January 2002.
